The analysis crew will recruit 800 Black American nonmedical prescription opioid customers and job interview them to establish an being familiar with of the traits affiliated with their drug use and cure use, which Stevens-Watkins expects will differ by gender and age.

“With younger contributors we interview, I be expecting to see songs and hip-hop lifestyle as a driving impact,” she said. “Since 2008 there has been a steep climb in the mentioning of the misuse of prescription medication in rap tunes. With more mature participants, I count on their misuse of prescription prescription drugs will be driven by serious well being circumstances.”

The initiation and continuance of drug use is largely impacted by the prevailing culture, Stevens-Watkins reported.
