Former Government minister appointed to raise education standards in Dorset

A Previous Governing administration minister is to guide a new education taskforce for Dorset.

It has been declared that Stephen Twigg will be getting the helm of a new Instruction Board which is being set up in Dorset to raise criteria.

Dorset Council says the board will concentrate on offering possibilities and tackling the difficulties of the education and learning technique in the county.

Mr Twigg is a previous Labour MP who famously gained Defence Secretary Michael Portillo’s Enfield Southgate seat in the 1997 Typical Election. He served as a minister in the Office for Education and learning (DfE) and Competencies between 2002 and 2005.

He lost his seat in 2005 but returned to parliament 5 many years later on when he was elected MP for Liverpool West Derby and served right up until 2019.
